The Carroll County Jazz Ensemble will present the 16th Annual Big Band Merry Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 7:30 PM in the Auditorium of Westminster High School. The snow date for the concert is Thursday, December 14th.
Featured performers will include Brad Collins, Jeff Boone, Gil Rathel, Nick Reider, Herb Sell, 3rd Generation, Glenn Patterson, Children’s Chorus of Carroll County and special small instrumental groups from the jazz ensemble. D & J’s Dynamite Dance Company will return as our special guests. This award winning dance ensemble has added much to our yearly concert, and we again anticipate overwhelming audience approval.
The beneficiary will again be Access Carroll Integrated Health Care. We are private non-profit health center in Carroll County that provides integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services for our neighbors in need. Since 2005, Access Carroll is the only full time safety-net health care provider in Carroll County, and works closely as a partner with our community hospital and health department to ensure those most in need are receiving timely, high quality, and critically needed health services. Currently, Access Carroll is serving more than 8,000 individual men, women and children; and continues to grow by an average 80 new patients each month. Access Carroll provides their services on a sliding fee scale and is accepting Maryland Medical Assistance Insurance to ensure our low-income and at-risk neighbors are receiving care.
The Big Band Merry Christmas event is the single largest and private fundraising event for Access Carroll. Why is this important? Without private community dollars raised, Access Carroll is not able to secure match funding from grantors, foundations, and other public funding sources. Every dollar raised through this concert supports an average of $40 of additional match dollars raised. Please consider being a sponsor of the 2017 concert.
